House of Parvi Organic Fabrics | Exclusive in Kochi at House of Vandy

Hi, it’s Vandy.

When I set out to build House of Vandy in my childhood home in Kochi, I envisioned a space where luxury and responsibility didn't just meet—they existed in complete harmony. Having trained at NIFT and Central Saint Martins, I saw firsthand the heavy environmental toll of fast fashion. Since then, my curation has been guided by a singular quest: finding creators who treat our planet with the utmost respect while delivering impeccable, high-fashion tailoring.

Every once in a while, you discover a brand that completely shifts your understanding of what fashion can be. A brand that doesn't just minimize harm, but actively heals.

Today, I am incredibly proud to share that House of Vandy is now the exclusive home for House of Parvi in Kochi and Kerala.

Created by the visionary duo of Parvi Chadha and Mridul Jacob (both alumni of the prestigious Pearl Academy and Nottingham Trent University, UK), House of Parvi is pioneering a green luxury movement. They have done what many thought was impossible: they have crafted the world's first completely biodegradable, plant-based luxury collections.

And the secret lies in their certified organic fabrics made entirely from Rose Petal, Lotus Stem, and Aloe-Vera fibers.

The Magic Behind the Fabrics: Wearing the Garden

At first glance, you would mistake these garments for the finest, heavy-draping mulberry silk. But touch them, and you realize you are wearing something entirely born of the earth. Here is the unique science and soul behind these certified organic fabrics:

1. Rose Petal Silk: The Grace of Petals

  • The Sourcing: Rose petal fabric is crafted by reclaiming the cellulose found in the natural by-products and waste of discarded rose petals and their surrounding stem bark. It is the ultimate form of floral upcycling.

  • The Feeling & Benefits: It is incredibly smooth with a rich, liquid-like drape and a subtle, sophisticated sheen. Because it is made of natural botanical cellulose, it is completely biodegradable, highly breathable, hypoallergenic, and possesses natural anti-bacterial properties—making it an absolute sanctuary for sensitive skin.

2. Lotus Stem Silk: The Sacred Climate Regulator

  • The Sourcing: Extracted through a painstaking, highly labor-intensive process where individual organic fibers are drawn from harvested lotus stems and hand-spun on traditional looms. On a micro-level, it features a unique multi-filament structure with a tiny diameter of around $6\text{ to }8\text{ microns}$, giving it a breaking tenacity of $3.44\text{ cn/dtex}$ and an initial modulus of $146.81\text{ cn/dtex}$.

  • The Feeling & Benefits: It is one of the most eco-friendly and rare fabrics in the world. Lotus silk is renowned for its natural elasticity, exceptional breathability, and natural antibacterial and UV-resistant properties. Most magically, it acts as a natural insulator, keeping you exceptionally cool in the tropical humidity of Kochi, yet beautifully warm during cool evening sea breezes.

3. Aloe-Vera Silk: Wearable Skincare

  • The Sourcing: This revolutionary textile is created by processing the plant-based cellulose fibers infused with natural Aloe Vera gel.

  • The Feeling & Benefits: Think of it as wearable skincare. It is ultra-soft, highly soothing, and possesses natural moisture-retaining qualities that nourish your skin as you wear it. It is highly breathable, wicks moisture away instantly, and has natural wrinkle-resistant, antibacterial, and anti-allergenic properties.

Complete Accountability: Sustainability in Every Detail

What drew me so deeply to House of Parvi is that their commitment to the earth doesn't stop at the fabric. Every single element of their garments is designed with absolute accountability:

  • Artisanal Trims: The garments are finished with gorgeous, handmade and hand-painted clay buttons.

  • Organic Printing: Every print is brought to life using non-toxic, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and Oeko-Tex certified inks and dyes.

  • Inside Details: They use Oeko-Tex certified biodegradable Cotton Linter Bemberg lining and biodegradable fusible interlining so that even the hidden elements of your clothes can safely return to the earth.

  • Upcycled Accessories: Adhering to a strict zero-waste approach, fabric scraps from their production are upcycled into beautiful accessories.

  • Conscious Packaging: Your garment arrives with recycled cotton seed paper hangtags, hung on organic bamboo hangers crafted by Indian artisans, packaged inside tree-free upcycled handmade paper.
