"Sometimes, you meet a brand that speaks the same language as your soul."
Hi, it’s Vandy.
When I opened the doors to House of Vandy in my childhood home, I made a silent promise. I promised that this wouldn't just be a shop filled with "stuff." I wanted it to be a sanctuary for stories—stories of artisans, of heritage, and of people who are trying to heal the planet, one garment at a time.
As a curator, I am constantly searching. I look for textiles that breathe and designs that honor the hands that made them. But rarely do I come across something that feels like magic.
Today, I am so proud to share one of those rare finds with you. House of Vandy is now the exclusive home for Hibiscus Heroes in Kerala.
The NIFT Connection There is a special connection I feel with Sowmya, the founder of Hibiscus Heroes. Like me, she is a NIFT alumnus. Like me, she spent over a decade in the high-speed world of international fashion—working with big brands in Europe, seeing the glamour, but also seeing the waste.
We both reached that same turning point. We both walked away from the corporate ladder to build something honest. While I returned to my roots here in Kochi, Sowmya found her sanctuary in the experimental township of Auroville.
Why I Chose Hibiscus Heroes for You When I first touched a Hibiscus Heroes dress, I didn't just feel cotton. I felt the earth.
Sowmya hasn’t just created a clothing line; she has created a way to wear nature. In a world of synthetic prints and chemical dyes, what they are doing in Auroville is revolutionary in its simplicity. They use no chemicals. None.
The blue on that dress? It’s from Clitoria flowers.
The soft yellow? That’s Annatto seeds.
The deep plum? That’s Madder root.
demands fabrics that heal and breathe. Because these garments are dyed with medicinal plants and herbs, they are incredibly gentle on the skin. It is "wellness wear" in the truest sense.
Bringing Hibiscus Heroes to Kerala as an exclusive partner is a milestone for us. It aligns perfectly with everything House of Vandy stands for: Conscious. Artisanal. Pure.
I invite you to come to our store in Panampilly Nagar or Fort Kochi. Don't just browse; come touch these fabrics. Come see what it looks like when fashion stops fighting nature and starts collaborating with it.The Magic of Eco-Printing But what truly captivated me was their "Eco-Printing" technique. I watched how they place real leaves and flowers onto the fabric and steam them. The heat transfers the natural pigments and the exact shape of the leaf onto the cloth.
It means that when you wear one of these pieces, you aren't wearing a factory-made print. You are wearing the actual imprint of a leaf from a forest in Tamil Nadu. No two dresses can ever be the same, just like no two leaves are the same.
A Perfect Fit for Kerala I knew immediately that this collection belonged in Kochi. Our humid, tropical weather
See you at the House.
Love, Vandy
